Time has gone somewhere, hasn't it?

Not really doing anything exciting, but I got to thinking that this year of 2011 has just flown by and what do I have to show for it???  Well.....

1)Tyler, Ethan, & I have been in a house of our very own for a WHOLE year.  Thank the LORD for guiding us through to finding this house and helping us make it our own.  (And for getting us out of the trap of Timber Cove)!

2)I have started the "going back to school" process and went on to take classes in Nursing and am now a certified nursing assistant (CNA).  I wanted to not stop taking classes once I started but family obligations come FIRST and hopefully I could maybe take a class next semester but definetly a couple of classes in the summer of 2012.

3)I have a job

4)I had my GOLDEN birthday and turned 28!!!!!

And you know what? I hope I don't fall asleep before the ball drops.  I miss seeing Dick Clark be the main man you see on the New Years' Rockin Eve show; even though he will ALWAYS be the MAIN MAN!
But with the normal goings on of my day, Tyler and I went on a date last night.  I know, right?!?!?! An actual DATE :)  It was the old stand-by of dinner and a movie.  I wanted to see the movie we saw but the other choices were just total CRAP so it made the decision pretty easy.  Today we kind of continued "date night" and went to play BINGO at the Majestic Hall in Mt. Zion.  I knew I usually have good luck when it comes to these things and during early bird bingo I saw that I had 5 in a row and I shouted "Got IT!" and well I slowly realized that you had to get 3 bingos not just the one and I felt like crying.....so STUPID of me.

All was well when I got an actual bingo and won $125!!!!!

Hold Me Accountable People!!!

I was thinking that I would most likely forget to write down my New Years' Resolutions on an actual piece of paper, so while I'm on my computer I'll log them on here (and at least I can look back at them as the year progresses).

2012 New Years' Resolutions for Rebecca Kitchens:
1)  Weigh 200 pounds or less (by next November so just maybe we can start trying for Kitchens #2)

2)  Enroll in more classes to go towards either LPN or RN programs at Richland Community College.

3)  Give up soda for Lent.

4)  Learn how to sew AND make a blanket for Project Linus

5) Read the WHOLE Bible

6) GO ON A VACATION

Ummm, I think thats it for now :)

Still Recovering

Did you know it took over 40 minutes to wrap my Secret Santa's present?!?!?!  Did you know that Ethan didn't get a nap at all on Christmas Day?  Did you know that we still don't have our Christmas tree completely put up (and its the day after Christmas)?

We totally needed an extra 8 hours (at least) to recover between each Christmas event.

.....Now I need a nap

Making It Count

So December is half way through and I gave in, yup I did but I have my reasons.

I went back to McDonalds because I was so tired of the b.s. at Cafe DMH; there I was a tray passer/hostess extraordinaire.  I just read that the supervisor who was almost at the center of every complaint from the employees she was supervising was FIRED! I realize she talked about how she loved seeing pictures of my son, but she was not a very good boss at all.

Crap, I'm already getting side tracked!  But like I was saying I went back to McDonalds because I knew I would always have a job there and besides they had been blowing up my phone asking me if I would come back to work for them!  Maybe I'm not strong enough but just recently I gave in and agreed to be a manager AGAIN :(  I always hate leaving a place and had a hard time leaving McDonalds the FIRST time even though I was having a rough time with one of the other managers leaving me nasty comments on how she thought my closes (as a manager) were going.  I fear the same will happen again this time around; at least with the having a hard time trying to leave.

I went back with certain stipulations in hand:  1)To NOT be a manager (oh well)  2)and to have every weekend off for my CNA nursing class  3)And to be paid at least $8.75 an hour because DMH paid me ONLY minimum wage (which I thought was complete crap esp. with the experience that I had)

Now that I have completed my CNA class at Richland Community College, and pending my state license test in January, I will recieve my certificate the same month.  Hopefully I will find something, anything, even if its a part time job that way I will get some REAL experience as I am trying to get at least my LPN degree.  I have already applied at a few places and even had an interview at St. Mary's Hospital and while I didn't get that job, at least my name is out there! :)
